Easy Baked Salmon

The perfect quick and healthy main dish for any night of the week!

Ingredients

  • 4 (6 ounces) salmon fillets
  • 2 Tablespoon olive oil or canola oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning
  • 1 medium lemon
  • Fresh thyme and parsley optional garnish

Instructions

  • Wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a large baking pan. Arrange salmon fillets on the baking sheet and season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Arrange salmon fillets on the baking sheet and season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Stir together oil, garlic, herbs, and juice of 1/2 lemon. Spoon over salmon fillets being sure to rub all over the tops and sides of the fillets.
  • Wash the counter and utensils that touched the raw fish. Wash hands with soap and water after handling raw fish.
  • Thinly slice the remaining 1/2 of lemon and top each piece of salmon with a lemon slice.
  • Bake the fish for 10-15 minutes depending on thickness, until salmon reaches 145°F. It will be opaque and flaky when pulled apart with a fork. For a crispy top broil for the last 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired and serve.
