Seasoned Pork Tenderloin

Total Time40 minutes
Course: Main Course
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 pounds pork tenderloin
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced

Instructions

  • Wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  • In a small bowl, mix dry ingredients (garlic powder, oregano, cumin, coriander, thyme, and salt). Stir the mixture with a fork until all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Sprinkle the rub over the tenderloin with a dry hand, then rub the pork with the seasoning over both sides of the meat, pressing gently so the seasoning adheres well to the tenderloin.
  • Wash the counter and utensils that touched the raw meat. Wash hands with soap and water after handling raw meat.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and heat. Add the minced garlic and saute, stirring, for 1 minute.
  • Put tenderloin in the skillet and cook for about 10 minutes total, searing each side using tongs to turn the meat. Transfer meat to a roasting pan and bake for about 20 minutes. Using a meat thermometer, ensure the internal temperature of the tenderloin is 145°F before removing from the oven. Allow the pork to sit on the counter (rest) for 3 minutes. Cooking cuts of pork to an internal temperature of 145°F with a 3 minute rest period will result in a product that is safe, but still tender and juicy!
  • Slice and serve.
