Bull
Investment Tool
Enter the cost of an average bull that you would purchase.
Enter the cost of an improved bull (or a "better
bull") that you intend to purchase.
Enter the number of years that you keep your bulls in
service on average.
Enter the average number of calves you expect the bull to
produce per year.
The results table calculates to sets of values to help
with your decision. The first value is
the total
revenue increase that the improved bull needs to generate
to break-even. The second value is the
annual revenue per required per calf to break-even. Each value is calculated at numerous
interest
rates. If you are
purchasing bulls as part of an operating loan your interest rate should be
fairly low.
However, if you purchase bulls with your credit card you
can see the break-even becomes more
challenging.
